Zeus who gathers the clouds answered her [his wife Hera] :
‘. . . Never before has love for any goddess or woman so melted about the heart inside me, broken it to submission, as now: not that time . . . when I loved Akrisios' daughter sweet-stepping Danaë, who bore Perseus to me, preeminent among all men'.

Questions about the sexual capabilities of demons have continued to be a topic of debate amongst both the elite and the dregs. Legendary mythology have handed down stories of spiritual beings whom lay with men and women while they are asleep and have sexual inter course with them. There are a number of variations on what has come to be known as incubus and succubus around the world.

The ancient Greet Mythology has it that Zeus, who was their king of the gods, the god of the sky, weather, fate and law had mortal liaisons with three women, Danaë who was impregnated by the god in the form of a golden shower, Antiope who was seduced by the god in the guise of a satyr, and Kallisto who was deceived by Zeus disguised as the maiden Artemis.

The Bible tells us of Tobit's wife:
'' the demon of lust, Asmodeus ("the worst of demons"), abducts and kills every man Sarah marries on their wedding night before the marriage can be consummated. God sent the angel Raphael, disguised as a human, to heal Tobit and free Sarah from the demon.

St. Augustine in his book Civitas Dei also said that there were too many alleged attacks by incubi to deny them. He stated "There is also a very general rumor. Many have verified it by their own experience and trustworthy persons have corroborated the experience others told, that sylvans and fauns, commonly called incubi, have often made wicked assaults upon women''.

St. Thomas Aquinas agrees with the existence of such relationships but argued against the possibility of children being conceived by intercourse with demons:
"Still, if some are occasionally begotten from demons, it is not from the seed of such demons, nor from their assumed bodies, but from the seed of men, taken for the purpose; as when the demon assumes first the form of a woman, and afterwards of a man; just so they take the seed of other things for other generating purposes. Such a thoroughly human child–like every human–would have a God-created soul and would live by the power of God, the only one who can give life''.

The issue of spirit spouse is widespread. They are often seen as spirits who choose mortal men or women as their spouse and possess them by every means sexual. They often see to the happiness of these persons and they are usually high achievers in real life. But being jealous like every other being, they wouldn't allow these men and women engage in any other sexual real
Persons whom are taken to have spiritual spouses often report cases of sexual assault by a being which they can neither see nor resist. They report an inability to engage in a sexual relationship with another mortal, especially in the confines of marriage. They report disarray and chaos in the life of any member of the opposite sex who attempts to take them as their spouse.

What are the possible causes of spirit spouse?
1.) Predated affiliations with spiritual beings: In the ancient African culture, men and women fearing destruction by war have dedicated themselves and possibly their lineage to ancient gods, promising to be 'theirs' in exchange for protection from such deities. This is what our people call 'OSU'. Some of these practices go as far as dedicating young women as wives of the Gods. These women live with the chief priests and are seen performing some form of spiritual dance during incantations, when the spirit possesses them.
2.) Ghost marriage: In some parts of the world, families whom fear extinction have upon the death of their only heirs, conducted marriage rites on their behalf with a woman whom would get pregnancy from different men in the name of their dead loved one. In places like Korea, a practice called posthumous marriage have also been inculcated as a norm; people marry the soul of their fiancé that died before a planned wedding.
3.) Oath: Relationships between men and women have at some instances gotten to a stage of lack of trust. These partners have in some cases taken oaths sealed with blood from both parties as sign of a covenant between them, promising undying love for each other, indestructible by even death itself. These words of mouth have in many instances, turned out to hunt eternally, the souls of such men and women.
4.) Sex: unknown to many, there are very many spirits that take the form of men and women. The holy book records the story of the 'sons of God/Angels' who took the beauty of mortals and married women who gave birth to giants. Some of these spiritual beings, just like mortals are 'dark' and seek to take over the souls of men.

Men have let spiritual beings interfere in their affairs and the age-long relationships hunt them till this very day! Many men and women have become trapped in these evil relations without even knowing it. What is the possible way out?
