A few days to Christmas, I came across two women arguing about the validity of the date of Christmas celebrations, an argument that lasted and was even postponed to a later date. The learned of the two quoted history while the other lady repeated what she was told at her church. The argument ended with both of them tearing at each other's throat and cursing.

All over the world, people die on daily basis defending their belief even when they are destructive, people feel convinced to take another's life just because they have a belief different from theirs. Sadly, 80% of these things we claim to know are just stories handed down to us by way of history, for which we have no evidence.

Why are we a violent race?
These conversations do not have to hurt or turn into a fight. They do not have to start wars. They shouldn't even be at all.
Which is thicker, blood or water? Are any group or persons less human than others because of what they were born into? If we all are truly flesh and blood, why must we be quick to spill each other's blood over things we created by ourselves.
There are good ways to give your opinion, there are good ways to convince others about what you think you know, violence is not one of them. Or is there a way to find out the belief of the dead? Is the world too small to contain us all with our beliefs? Then I will know there actually is a joy that comes with 'one man less'.
Have you ever sat down to think what you would be if we were in each other's shoes? Have you sat down to think for once that we could be that which we hate?

These things destroy our friendships, they destroy our relationships, they destroy our marriages, they destroy our families, they destroy our society, they hinder our development.
May that day come when we will value lives more than our beliefs.
